L.H. Woodhouse & Co Ltd is a well known supplier of temporary accommodation such as stables and grandstands at many of the leading equestrian events in the UK and Europe, including the 2012 Olympic Games in Greenwich.
Impact Technical Services carried out an LEV test and found that the wood dust extraction system did not meet the required standard of control required by COSHH regulations.
Subsequently, Impact was given the opportunity to design and quote for a replacement system.
Following a site survey, Impact’s proposal proved to be substantially better than those previously received by L.H. Woodhouse, so an order was placed. The system was installed by two of our engineers, taking three days. A commissioning assessment was carried out after the system had been in use for approximately one week to ensure that the values obtained would be comparable to normal uses and changes could be indentified in the LEV testing in 12 months from installation. The design criteria was for effective extraction from three machines working at any one time, the new system exceeds this.
The operators and management of L.H. Woodhouse are exceedingly happy with the performance of the systems, the tidiness of the workshop and the operator training provided by Impact Technical Services engineers.
