A jewellery display manufacturer, based in Leicester, contacted Impact about the possibility of installing a new LEV system. During the manufacturing process glues are used, which are applied by hand or spray. The spray booth they were currently using was old and not designed to effectively extract fumes.
Impact’s solution:
We removed the existing booth and installed a new fume extraction system to protect the employees applying the glue both by hand and within the spray booth.
To extract the solvent fumes produced during the gluing process, four LGF extraction arms were installed on the work bench. The LGF arms provide a great range of flexibility, allowing workers to easily move it close to the source for optimum extraction.
Extraction for the glue spraying booth is now provided by two BZ spray extraction benches. These replaced the old, wooden booth which provided very limited extraction. The BZ benches provide excellent protection from solvent fumes as they are extracted through the back of the table via the Z-line filter, the filtered air is then discharged to the outside atmosphere.
Once complete, the customer was provided with a comprehensive LEV commissioning report, which should be used as a benchmark for future LEV thorough examination and testing.
