A global supplier of pumps, fluid handling components, agricultural & industrial spraying products, pressure washers, pressure wash accessories and cleaning equipment contacted Impact as they required an LEV system to remove engine fumes from engine driven pumps. They also requested the installation of an additional ventilation hood to keep the room under negative pressure.
The first part of the system installed was an extraction arm which extracts fumes from the engine exhaust which is either diesel or petrol fumes. The specific extraction arm installed was a 3 metre 125mm diameter articulating extraction arm type RFF. This arm is flexible to provide versatility which was required by the customer as the engines in question are mobile and vary in both footprint and height.
As requested, a 1200mm x 1200mm bespoke extraction hood was designed, fabricated and installed with the extraction provided by a 1.1kW VL1100-C centrifugal fan. Volume control dampers were installed to allow the adjustment of airflow at each extraction point.
As with every Impact installation, a commissioning report, logbook and user manual were provided in line with the recommendations of HSG258.
