The most effective method of dust control in industrial environments is a properly designed local exhaust ventilation (LEV) system. A typical dust extraction system includes a capture hood or enclosure, ducting, filtration unit and fan. Positioned close to the source of dust generation, the hood captures hazardous airborne particles at source before they can enter the workplace atmosphere.
The contaminated air is then conveyed through ductwork to a high-efficiency filtration system, where dust is removed and clean air is either safely recirculated or discharged externally in accordance with COSHH regulations and environmental standards.

Once an LEV system has been installed, it must undergo thorough examination and testing once every 14 months. This is a service which can be carried out by Impact’s experienced P601 qualified technicians, ensuring the extraction system is running as effectively as possible.
