The most common way to control dust is through a local exhaust ventilation (LEV) system, which consists of a hood or enclosure, ducting, a filter, and a fan. Positioned close to the dust source, the hood captures hazardous particles as they are generated. The contaminated air is then transported through the ductwork, where it is either filtered and recirculated or safely discharged outside.

Once an LEV system has been installed, it must undergo thorough examination and testing once every 14 months. This is a service which can be carried out by Impact’s experienced P601 qualified technicians, ensuring the extraction system is running as effectively as possible.
