Client Overview
A materials technology and testing company contacted Impact Technical Services to improve air quality and safety across their ceramics testing laboratories. The facility required a system to manage heat, fumes, and vapours generated during various testing processes.
Our Solution
Impact supplied and installed a comprehensive heat, vapour, and fume extraction system, including:
- Ten extraction canopies are strategically positioned to remove heat, fume, and vapours from the ceramics testing process.
- Corrosion-resistant PVC fume cupboard to safely extract fumes from acid treatment processes.
- Duct connection to analytical equipment to remove fumes at the source.
- Mild steel galvanised spiral ducting and centrifugal fans to manage airflow and heat.
- 250mm vertical discharge duct with a high-velocity cowl to safely release extracted air above the building’s roofline.
The system was commissioned by a P601/P604 certified technician, with full documentation issued in line with HSG258 “Controlling Airborne Contaminants at Work.”
The Result
The facility now operates in a cleaner, safer environment, with effective removal of heat, fumes, and vapours from all critical processes.
