J.W. Plant & Co Ltd, a flag manufacturing and printing company, were experiencing issues with fumes released during the ink heat-curing stage of their digital printing process. Their existing LEV system was fixed in place and unable to provide sufficient extraction, limiting both access and visibility for cleaning and quality checking.
Our Solution
With extensive experience in the print industry, we designed and installed a tailored vapour extraction system to protect workers and improve process efficiency. Pivotal Extraction Hoods were selected to provide flexibility, wide coverage, and easy access for operators. Measuring 1500mm wide and 300mm deep, the hoods were mounted to a central support post, ensuring full encapsulation of the fume source. A 2.2kW centrifugal fan powers the system, delivering efficient airflow in compliance with HSG258 guidelines. This solution eliminated fume exposure in the workplace, improved operator visibility, and ensured safe and effective control of airborne contaminants.
