The Challenge
An engineering solutions company contacted us after experiencing issues with their existing LEV systems, which served ABB robot welding cells and rework jigs. The systems were ineffective at controlling airborne welding fumes, leaving operators exposed and the workplace environment compromised.
Our Solution
Impact replaced the underperforming LEV system with a tailored solution:
- GT Extraction Walls to provide excellent capture efficiency of fumes from the jigs, in both horizontal and vertical positions.
- Extraction Canopies (1600mm × 1000mm) were fitted above the jigs within the cell to further improve fume capture and ensure compliance with safe working standards.
The Result
The new system effectively controls welding fumes, providing a safer, cleaner environment for operators and ensuring compliance with HSE guidance.
