Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) Technician

WHAT CAN WE OFFER YOU?

Due to continued growth we are seeking to appoint a conscientious LEV Technician who has a genuine interest and understanding of Local Exhaust Ventilation.

This is a permanent, long term position with continuous professional development a key factor. You must have an in-depth understanding of COSHH regulations and engineering practices. Electrical competency would also be looked on favourably.

We work in many sectors across the whole of the UK but due to our central location preference will be given to Midlands based applicants, however, all suitable applicants will be considered.

The right person will be time served with a can-do attitude and BOHS (or equivalent) training. Your core focus will be to undertake thorough examination & testing, commissioning and service of LEV systems in accordance with the COSHH regulations and HSG258.  You must be capable of troubleshooting most types of LEV system and of carrying out a first-time fix.

Impact Technical Services design, service, maintain, repair and carry out statutory testing on all types of LEV systems. Our client database is varied, covers the whole of the UK and sectors include defence, aerospace, manufacturing, education and foodstuffs.

Additionally, we also maintain pneumatic material conveying and material separation solutions across all of the UK. We not only maintain our own systems, but we also look after many of our competitors too. These systems typically control dusts, fumes, mists and vapours.

You must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in LEV thorough examination and testing and ideally hold BOHS P601 (BOHS P602, P604 and W201 qualifications would also be preferred but not essential).

You should be able to demonstrate an in depth understanding of the capture, control and movement of contaminated air and the components that make up an LEV system.

Good engineering and analytical skills, the ability to work unsupervised, carry out first time fixes and work under own initiative are all essential qualities.

  • You must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
  • You must have effective communication skills and be able to write clear and concise technical English and be able to complete and submit reports direct to the customer using MS Word & Excel.
  • You must be prepared to work away from home and work some weekend days.
  • Your profile should be complemented by a great work ethic, willingness to assume responsibility.
  • A UK driving licence is essential.
