Trim Cutters
We know how important it is to keep your extraction system running at its best, which is why we offer two types of trim cutter service. Based on your application and operating hours, the knives on your trim cutter will need to be re-sharpened, replaced, and properly set.
Knife re-sharpening and setting is a highly precise process, with clearances as small as 0.00025″ (6.35µ). This work should only be done by a skilled engineer trained in surface and cylindrical grinding and experienced with your specific cutter.
Trim Cutter Options
We provide two options for you to choose from:
1. Cutter exchange (best for continuous cutter use)
Once you have informed us that the knives are ready to be re-sharpened and set, we will arrange for a completely refurbished, serviced, replica cutter to be sent to you. When you receive the cutter, it should be swapped with the worn cutter. The cutter exchange option means that you will only experience a few minutes of downtime and maximum operating efficiency will be restored. The worn cutter must be returned to us within 21 days.
2. Re-sharpen & set (best for occasional cutter use)
This option is suited to processes where downtime of the trim extraction system is not detrimental by the cutter not being in operation for a while (up to 2 weeks). We ask that you return the cutter to us for the knives to be re-sharpened and set by our specially trained engineers. In addition, a thorough internal inspection, including bearings, and clean up procedure is also carried out. This service means that your cutter could be out of your system for up to 14 days.
*It is very important to note that the lids and bases should never be swapped between cutters under any circumstances.
